class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if nothing changes, many small British toy brands simply won\u2019t survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" still time to fix this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right now, the same administrative burden is being imposed on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc49\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t51\/1\/16\/1f449.png\"> factories producing millions of units overseas,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc49\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t51\/1\/16\/1f449.png\"> and British artisans making a few hundred products a year in local workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u274c\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tdd\/1\/16\/274c.png\"> That makes absolutely no sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A local maker producing 500 handcrafted toys in the UK is not the same risk profile as anonymous mass production imported from the other side of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet both are increasingly treated the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consequence is brutal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u274c\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tdd\/1\/16\/274c.png\"> rising compliance costs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u274c\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tdd\/1\/16\/274c.png\"> endless paperwork<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u274c\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tdd\/1\/16\/274c.png\"> innovation slowed down<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u274c\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tdd\/1\/16\/274c.png\"> local manufacturing discouraged before it even has the chance to grow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And meanwhile, the biggest players absorb the cost without difficulty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we genuinely want to rebuild British manufacturing, support local craftsmanship, and encourage new brands to emerge, then regulation must become proportionate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our position is simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For UK manufacturers producing fewer than 1500 units per year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u2714\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t51\/1\/16\/2714.png\"> simplified self-declaration of conformity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u2714\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t51\/1\/16\/2714.png\"> documented technical files kept available for inspection<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u2714\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t51\/1\/16\/2714.png\"> traceability through production year marking<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u2714\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t51\/1\/16\/2714.png\"> fast local enforcement when needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u274c\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tdd\/1\/16\/274c.png\"> Not lighter safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u2705\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\"> Smarter regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because today, small British creators are spending more time feeding bureaucracy than building products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We should be helping local makers grow into future exporters \u2014 not crushing them before they reach scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UK has an opportunity here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Build a framework that protects children WITHOUT destroying local industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That would be real leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\"
